KidSport CANADA’s ‘The Give the Gift of Sport’ campaign aims to inspire Canadians to donate to ensure no child is left on the sidelines this holiday season and beyond.

Mission Search & Rescue

Mission Search a Rescue (MSAR) is built and run by the dedicated members of our community. As a registered non-profit organization in British Columbia, its primary function is to provide a variety of life-saving search and rescue related services to the people and visitors of Mission's backcountry, lakes, and rivers.
Mission Search and Rescue is made up of 25 active members; all of which are fully volunteer members. MSAR's members put in hundreds of hours every year to train, run events, and attend callouts. Fundraising is a key part to keep our team.

Here are a few ways you can help support the lifesaving work of MSAR:

1. Follow us on social media to learn more about our events and fundraising initiatives.

The Mission Hospice Society was founded in 1985 by Lilian Dudfield to provide compassionate end of life care and grief and bereavement support to the community of Mission and its surrounding areas. Hospice emphasizes “care not cure ” for the terminally ill and the provision of social, emotional and spiritual comfort for the patient, family and friends throughout the final stage of illness, at the time of death and during bereavement.

The programs and services of the Mission Hospice Society are free. We offer grief support services to our community, which include one to ones, adult grief groups, widow support groups and supports for children & teens, which either take place in the schools as one to one, or our Circle of Friends children’s grief group, which is an after school program. We also host a children & teen grief camp every year.

The Mission Hospice Society is part of the Palliative Care Team at Mission Memorial Hospital which cares for patients diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses and, in partnership with Fraser Health, the Society provides programs, services and funds all patient care comfort needs in the Christine Morrison Hospice. Together, we strive to facilitate and create a wonderful and loving experience for all who pass through Hospice and your support allows us to continue this work.
