When you’re shopping for a new home, you’ll likely have a list of "must-haves" that are essential to your ideal living space. However, there are circumstances in which it may be worth compromising on your list of non-negotiables.
Location While having four bedrooms or a large backyard may be high on your priority list, a desirable location with easy access to schools, work, and amenities could outweigh those specific features. Keep an open mind and consider adjusting your must-haves if it means securing a home in an ideal neighbourhood. Budget Sometimes, your dream home may exceed your price range. In such cases, it can be beneficial to explore properties that may lack a few desired features but offer the potential for customization or renovation in the future. This way, you can gradually transform the house into your dream home while staying within your financial means. When I bought my first house, It was in rough shape being rented by 6 guys but our Realtor opened our eyes to the potential, We were able to do a mortgage with improvements and made it our own. Here are some simple ways to incorporate everyday Magic into your life for the month of August:
Over 40 vehicles came out for their annual Poker Run to support Mission Hospice Society. The Mission Hospice Society has been providing end of life compassionate care since 1985. Through bereavement support and community volunteering, we care for individuals and families as they journey through their final days. To learn more or to donate, visit www.missionhospice.bc.ca
It’s that lovely time of year again when we have the pleasure to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our community's many great young people. While I believe we should recognize youth achievements throughout the year, grad season is a particularly ideal time to acknowledge these accomplishments as a new group of young people transitions to the next journey in their lives. As a young entrepreneur myself, I take particular interest in and have respect for these accomplishments.
Fashion is a dynamic concept, it varies depending on who you ask, where you are, and when you ask it. It changes constantly, (which makes it so much more interesting), and more often than not, young people are pioneering this change. What I find to be particularly great about this is that young people (especially so with my generation) are much less interested in following the status quo and much more interested in establishing their own identities. Clothing plays a major role in this naturally, and for many occasions, it is much more important to consider “what do you want to wear?” than it is “what am I supposed to wear?”. Certain occasions require a certain “type” of dress, but it’s important not to forget the fundamental idea that fashion and clothing are celebrations of personal identity and self-expression. So, what do you wear for your prom? Truthfully, whatever you want to wear. We’re happy to help expand your ideas for you, help you put some cohesive outfits together if you’ve got a vision, or even help walk you through finding something that is uniquely you. It could be a suit, it could be a fun jacket with cool shoes, it could be just a really interesting tie, the world is your oyster here. Take this event and this time for what it is, a time for celebration, a time for reflection and personal expression, and a step forward. As always, I wish you all the very best, congratulations on your many great accomplishments. I will see you all very soon! Sincerely, Lucas Cameron James McKinnon |
